Toy Shop Opportunities
During Christmastime, The Salvation Army's Christmas Cheer Program works to bring joy to thousands of
Wake County children, providing them with new clothing and toys, and the opportunity to have a happy
Christmas morning. The Toy Shop portion of the Christmas Cheer Program focuses on fulfilling the need of
new toys. Help make a child's Christmas magical by volunteering with the Toy Shop Opportunities!
See the 2018 Christmas process from the beginning and volunteer for Client Registration. Here over 4,000 families come to register their children for the Christmas Cheer Program, where they will receive new toys, clothing, and stockings. Volunteers with basic computer skills and/or bilingual speakers are extremely helpful (but not required)! October 1-5 shifts times are 8:30am- 12pm; 12pm-4pm. October 2 and October 4 shift times are 3:30-8:00 p.m. *Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
9,000 stockings need to be filled with goodies by December 12. A guideline of items to include can be provided, and stockings can be picked up at 1863 Capital Blvd. during regular office hours. Great activity for groups!
