Bell Ringing

Volunteers help bring in the joy of the holiday season to millions across the world. For many people
seeing the red kettles and ringers are a true sign that the Christmas season has arrived. Beginning
November 6 until December 24, donate your time at Christmas by ringing a bell in our community to
collect much needed funds for our Christmas programs at local stores listed below. Shifts are available
(Monday-Saturday) or you can sign up for multiple shifts. The money you raise brings hope to thousands
of less fortunate families, children, seniors and institutionalized individuals through the distribution of
new toys, Angel Tree gifts and care packages right here in Wake County. Be A Shield this holiday;

Bell Ringing (Paid and Volunteer)

ALL Bell Ringer COVID-19 Guidelines and Safety Protocols

The Salvation Army is able to help struggling individuals, families, and communities thanks to our
Red Kettle Campaign partners. The public’s generosity allowed us to serve more than 23 million
people living in poverty last year. Due to COVID-19, we anticipate the need will grow exponentially.
The need for a bright Christmas will be great, but we are committed to being a source of help and
hope for all who seek us.

Thank you for continuing to support The Salvation Army as a generous red kettle partner. The funds
raised in the kettles at your store locations will stay in the community to provide much needed support
for those in need.

This year we are implementing protocols to ensure the health and safety of our Bell Ringers and your
customers and associates.

General Guidelines

As previously stated, The Salvation Army will follow all state and local safety protocols and will take into
consideration any additional safety measures your company recommends.

    Returning to Work

A participant can return to work when they can answer YES to ALL three questions:
    • Has it been at least 10 days since you first had symptoms?
    • Has it been at least 3 days since you’ve had a fever (without using fever reducing medicine)?
    • Has it been at least 3 days since your symptoms have improved, including cough and shortness of breath?

If a participant has had a negative COVID-19 test, they can return to work once they have no fever without the use of fever-reducing medicines and have felt well for 24 hours.

The employee can return to work without meeting the above criteria and without a negative
COVID-19 test result IF they have a doctor’s note allowing them to return to work.
