Angel Tree

In October, The Salvation Army will register over 8,000 children from Wake County to be a part of the Christmas Cheer Program where they received new clothing, toys, and stockings. The Angel Tree specifically focuses on fulfilling the biggest need: new clothing. See below for ways to help a child in need.

Client Registration

October 3-7 families from all over Wake County will come to register their children for the Christmas Cheer Program. We need your help to sign them up! Volunteers will greet parents, verify paperwork, check clothing sizes, and enter in the families' information into the database. *Bilingual volunteers and computer savvy volunteers are extremely helpful!
Volunteer shifts: 8:30am-12pm & 12pm - 4pm. Email us to sign up

Staff the Angel Trees

Help people adopt angels for Christmas! Volunteers are needed to staff the three main Angel Tree locations. November 11-December 12; Monday-Sunday; 2 hour shifts. Times vary by location. *Online Sign up will be available in October

Children in the Christmas Cheer Program will receive new clothing, toys, and stockings! We have over 8,000 stockings that need to be filled with fun goodies! Pick up 1 or 100 - it's up to you! Stockings can be picked up at the Center of Hope facility at 1863 Capital Blvd and need to be returned by December 12. Please email us so that we can set them aside for you.

Adopt An Angel

Be a part of making children’s Christmas wishes come true by being involved with our Angel Tree! To help the 8,000 children, you can purchase clothing items for ages 0-11 years old and deliver them to the Christmas Center at 2116-D New Bern (the old Winn Dixie inside Longview Shopping Center), open Monday-Saturday from 9am-5:30pm. *Angels will be ready to adopt in mid-October. Items due back December 12

When you're out Christmas shopping, stop by one of the three main Angel Trees to pick up angels to adopt for the season. Angel Trees will be open November 11-December 12 at the following locations:

  • Cary Towne Mall -play area/Dave & Buster's entrance
  • Crabtree Valley Mall -Kanki Wing, by Lego Store
  • Triangle Town Center -Entrance by Barnes & Noble/California Pizza

If you do most of your holiday shopping online, you'll love our Angel Tree "Shopping Cart!" You can provide for children in need without ever leaving your computer.

*Email Major Connie Long if you're interested in corporate adoptions, large adoptions or adopting a family.

Host a Clothing Drive

New clothing is by far the biggest need during the Christmas Season. Children in the Christmas Cheer Program are guaranteed new toys, but are not guaranteed new clothing, unless someone adopts them. Help clothe a child in need by hosting a drive to collect new clothing for angels who are not adopted through Angel Tree.  Download our Angel Tree Clothing Flyers to get started!

Not sure if you can adopt or host a drive? Even donating a new pair of jeans, one new shirt or new pair of shoes will make a difference!
