The Salvation Army of Wake County’s Angel Tree begins Friday

The Salvation Army of Wake County is pleased to announce that over 7,700 children were signed up for its annual Christmas Cheer Program, September 21 – October 2 and those children will be helped this year through the annual Salvation Army Angel Tree program which, with generous help from the community, gives children in need the Christmas of their dreams. Each family registered for the program is screened through a process that helps verify their needs.

Angel Trees will be available at various locations in Wake County beginning Friday, November 6 and run through Friday, December 11. Angel Trees in the mall locations will not be available on Sundays. Angel Trees at various Walmart locations in Wake County will begin on November 13.

On each tree are printed angels that have the name, age, and gift suggestions for a child “angel” registered in the program. Each angel is ready for members of the community to “adopt” (purchase gifts) for Christmas.

Angel Tree locations include:

* Crabtree Valley Mall, near the LEGO store in the Kanki wing of the mall

* Triangle Town Center, the entrance near Barnes & Noble/California Pizza (near Reed’s Jewelers)

* Walmart in Fuquay-Varina

* Walmart in Holly Springs

* Walmart in Knightdale

* Walmart in Raleigh at 10050 Glenwood Ave.

“The Salvation Army is grateful for the community and community partners. Because of their generosity, we can serve residents in need at Christmas and throughout the year with our social service programs, particularly during these more difficult times” said Major Al Newsome, area commander of The Salvation Army of Wake and Lee Counties.

Due to COVID-19 The Salvation Army of Wake County has been in its “Rescue Christmas” mode since September. The adopting of angels began online in October and continues, and in addition to the Angel Tree locations, Angels can also be adopted online.
