Project CATCH in need of school supplies

Children are preparing to go back to school and Project CATCH - Community Action Target Children who are Homeless - a program of The Salvation Army, founded in 2011, is preparing for its annual Back to School Bash to get school supplies to children experiencing homelessness. Please consider donating backpacks, pencils and pens, crayons and markers, binders, paper, hand sanitizer, and personal protective equipment. Items may be dropped off to the Judy D. Zelnak Center of Hope, 1863 Capital Blvd., Raleigh Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

Project CATCH's annual Back to School Bash will occur online this year. On August 8, CATCH will host a webinar connecting families experiencing homelessness to early care and education resources. The webinar will take place from 12-1:30pm in English and again from 2-3:30pm for Spanish speaking families. Families who participate will be placed in a raffle for a chance to win a laptop and hot spot. Gift cards will be provided to participants. CATCH will continue its tradition of dispersing book bags and school supplies while practicing social distancing at a day and time to be announced.
