Brasfield and Gorrie's MetLife, SAWC win Bench Building Competition

June 14 should be labeled Brasfield and Gorrie Day at The Salvation Army of Wake County.

After the company brought by 4,916 food items, monetary and gift card donations to the Center of Hope Thursday morning, the company spent Thursday afternoon in an intra-company competition to see who could build the best most creative bench.

A panel of judges voted on who had the best benches and Team MetLife came in first place, building a rounded bench using treated lumber that was painted green. Not only was the bench judged the best it Team MetLife also finished first.

Team MetLife was followed by Team Cone, Team Perimeter, Team Office Slackers and Team Paraclete. All of the benches were well built and were donated to The Salvation Army of Wake County Community Center for outside use.

#Wakearmy is appreciative of the partnership it has with B&G. B&G was named Volunteer Organization of the Year at SAWC's Volunteer Banquet on May 17.
