The Salvation Army of Lee County hosts first Kettle Krush 5k run

Same Reason. Different Season.

That’s the slogan given to The Salvation Army of Lee County’s first ever Kettle Krush and Fun Run (ages 5-12), a 5k run taking place Saturday, April 14 beginning at 8:00 a.m. in Sanford, NC. Proceeds from the event will benefit the programs of the TSA Lee County.

While the Salvation Army's Kettle Krush 5K and Fun Run is in a "different season" than Christmas which The Salvation Army is known for, the purpose is for the "same reason." Through this event, The Salvation Army is raising money and awareness to "krush" poverty and to provide the resources that people need to become self-sufficient and productive members of our community.

Persons interested in participating can sign up online Registration ends on Friday, April 13 at 4:00 p.m.

Sign up can also be done in person, Friday, April 13 4:00-6:00 p.m. at 507 North Steele St. Sanford (The Mann Center) and the day of the race from 6:45-7:45 a.m. at 202 Summit Dr. Sanford (across from First Baptist Church and next to BB&T) in Sanford.
