The Salvation Army Marches For A Cause

The Salvation Army Marches For A Cause

In September, The Salvation Army committed to bringing health, entertainment, and information to the community with a day of Community Awareness. As many students prepare for spring break, The Salvation Army is offering an alternative to spring break. We are inviting the community to enjoy a day of free food and entertainment. This Saturday, March 8, we are embarking on a 2k Walk. The event is free to the public. From 9:00 am until 4:00 pm The Salvation Army extends an invitation to all members of the community to enjoy a day of unity, games, and motivational speaking. We encourage families to learn ways to restore your health, finances, and better your community in 2014! The first 50 participants will receive a free T-shirt.

The Salvation Army has committed to the pursuit of holistic health. We are dedicated to counter widespread health problems like obesity and heart disease by providing individuals and families with exciting opportunities to get active and healthy. In addition, we are pushing community unity through interactive workshops and presentations. We are working with service based organizations like Blue Choice Health Plan of South Carolina, Spartanburg Community College, and The Haven to offer a wealth of information and entertainment to our community.

As participants prepare for the 2k March, they can stop by the Hydration Station provided by BlueChoice Health Plan of South Carolina. In addition Blue Choice is motivating the community to get active with a Fitness Challenge and Nutrition Prize Wheel. In addition to health initiatives, the community will have the opportunity to receive beneficial workshops like Financial Literacy and Stress Management. Young members may also experience hands-on workshops provided by Home Depot. Come out and enjoy us for a day of fun, information, and entertainment.

Special Presentations include:
