Those Affect By COVID-19, We Offer...

Drive through Food Pantry

A drive through, no contact pantry assistance program offering food to individuals or households impacted by COVID-19.

Available 9:30-12 Monday through Thursday by appointment if possible. Though no one is turned away during the Stay at Home order if food is available. Recipients stay in the car and unlock their trunks and Salvation Army personnel in PPE will load the car.

Rent/Mortgage Assistance

Emergency rent assistance to families impacted by COVID-19 who meet the following conditions:
a.) Financial assistance to cover rent where payment is in arrears or due within 10 calendar days.
b.) The client is a 1) Resident of the home or apartment 2) responsible for the rent on the home or apartment where the rent assistance is to be paid.
c.) Payment is limited to a maximum of one month's assistance for each individual or household.
d.) Assistance is provided only once by a single agency.


ELIGIBILITY

The client is a 1) Resident of the home or apartment in Rowan County, NC 2) responsible for the rent on the home or apartment where the rent assistance is to be paid. c.) Payment is limited to a maximum of one month's assistance for each individual or household. d.) Assistance is provided only once by a single agency.

Utility Assistance

Emergency Utility assistance for those impacted by Covid-19. This includes gas, electricity, water and sewage service for individuals or households. The client must be 1) A resident of a home or apartment in Rowan County provided the following conditions "A" through "E" are met:

A) Payment is in arrears or due within 10 days

B) Payment is limited to a maximum of of one month's billed usage cost for each utility for each household

C) The month paid is the current amount, budget amount or part of the arrearage that is still owed at the time of payment

D) Each utility is paid only once for any individual or household

E) Payment guarantees and additional 30 days service

Reconnect fees are eligible. Required fees that are included on the bills are eligible. Level billing or budget payments are eligible. Elective fees/items are not eligible. Late fees and deposits are not eligible. Repayment agreements beyond one month billing are not eligible.

Documentation required: Copies of bills for metered utilities (electricity, water, etc), the most recent copy of past due or current utility bill with a breakdown which clearly identifies the one month's charges being paid including due date and proof of payment to vendor by an acceptable payment method and canceled checks or documentation for the acceptable payment methods.
