CHORUS RESOURCES

CHORAL PUBLICATIONS

The USA Southern Territory began publishing music to support chorus groups in 1992. Sing Praise was geared towards youth choruses and songsters in an SAB (Soprano, Alto, Baritone) format and Children's Praise was created to provide music for singing companies. Since the beginning of the publication, each volume has also had a recording available that provides a demonstration and an accompaniment for those groups that do not have piano players.

The Children’s Praise! series has been in existence since 1991. Dr. Richard E. Holz, my predecessor as Territorial Music and Creative Arts Secretary, pioneered many innovations during his thirty-years overseeing the music programs of the Southern Territory, including the American Instrumental Ensemble Series for brass and the Sing Praise! Series, the 3-part (SAB) adult choir equivalent of Children’s Praise!

Together with Mr. James Curnow, Territorial Music Editor, the Southern Territory music department has continued to produce accessible and educational children’s choral music that is appealing to the performer and listener alike.

Children’s Praise! is designed to fit the needs of a Salvation Army singing company group, Church children’s choir, or elementary school vocal group. All arrangements and piano accompaniments are considered easy to moderate levels, and can be easily taught to any group.

It is always preferable to perform music live, which is why the piano accompaniments have been written with moderate players in mind, but for use in rehearsal and on the occasion that an accompanist in not available for performance, a CD of these songs is available that includes demonstration and accompaniment tracks.

It is hoped that this new edition of Children’s Praise! will bring much blessing to those who sing the songs and to those that hear them!

Children's Praise was made a FREE resource in 2016. You can download all the music and tracks from Ministry Toolkit.
