Letter of Thanks

January 31, 2018

Dear High Point Community:

The Salvation Army of High Point would like to thank the community for donating gifts and volunteering to help with the many programs offered during the Christmas season. To FOX8, The High Point Enterprise, and other local news organizations, thank you for your commitment to cover each of our events so that every child could have a very Merry Christmas in 2017.

Through your generous donations to the Old Dominion/FOX8 Triad Holiday Food Drive, more than 579,000 food items were collected for families in need. Thank you to the Rotary Club of High Point for their leadership and donation through the Designs to Fight Hunger project.

We would like to recognize our 2017 Adopt a Kettle sponsors: Crescent Ford, Smart Choice Insurance, and Hal Surratt CPA. Special thanks to The Salvation Army Advisory Board, Women’s Auxiliary, and all of our wonderful volunteers from the community who helped organize toys and ring bells so that we can continue Doing The Most Good!

The Salvation Army would also like to thank each individual and every company who adopted angels, donated toys, bought clothing, or gave financially to provide Christmas gifts to over 1,500 children in High Point. Through the FOX8 Gifts for Kids campaign Northstate and Lowes Home Improvement made incredible donations to provide gifts for children in need. To our local Sheetz partners, thank you for purchasing gifts for families in crisis situations.

Thank you to the High Point University students who stuffed over 1,200 stockings with toys and hygiene items; fulfilling 75% of our total stocking goal! We also express our sincerest thanks to HPU for sponsoring our angel tree program and allowing us to use the community center to distribute food and gifts to over 700 families in need this year.

Your generosity continues to bless us into the New Year, through the 31st annual A Cleaner World Give-a-Kid-a-Coat campaign. Thank you for donating new and gently used coats to help your neighbors stay warm this winter.

On behalf of those served by the ministry of The Salvation Army, we say thank you!

May God bless you.

Bobby Jackson, Captain

Corps Officer, The Salvation Army of High Point
