A FOND FAREWELL AND ...

It is with a sad heart that we realize that the time has come once again to say good bye to our officers – Majors Brian and Loretta (Mrs. G) Gilliam. They have been here five years and have made a huge difference. Majors Gilliam’s lane is the business and preaching side of the ministry. During their time here, and in addition to all regular events, they have spearheaded the new playground build, the birth of the Holz School for the Performing Arts, the introduction of the Ageless Wonders Seniors Program and the Steve Green fundraiser. As they enter their retirement in Florida, they will enjoy lots of traveling, watching Pittsburgh Steelers games, probably more post-retirement work and definitely quality time with their daughter and two grandchildren. We will miss them and wish them much happiness in the future.

A WARM WELCOME

The new Corps Officers in Hendersonville are Captains Phillip and Sherrie Stokes. The Stokes and their four children arrived on June 22nd from Goldsboro, NC. They have been involved with The Salvation Army since 2008, and were commissioned in 2012 as a Friend of Christ. Hendersonville will be their 3rd appointment. "We have had the honor of officiating funerals, weddings, baby dedications, Soldier Enrollments & more. We try to involve everyone in the corps, welcoming visitors & help encourage a family atmosphere all while sharing the Gospel and love of Jesus Christ. We also encourage community partnerships giving other agencies/churches/individuals the opportunity to join the mission of The Salvation Army.”
The Salvation Office representing Henderson, Transylvania and Polk counties would like to thank each of youl for your support and prayers during this time of transition.
