National Donut Day
Raising Awareness and Dough-nations
The Salvation Army is celebrating the 81st National Donut Day on June 7, 2019! The Salvation Army established National Donut Day in 1938 as a way of honoring the "Doughnut Lassies" of WW1, who served donuts and coffee to soldiers in the trenches. Today, The Salvation Army celebrates National Donut Day as a reminder of the comforts we provide to those in need through our homeless shelters, food assistance programs, emergency disaster services and more!
In celebration of National Donut Day, The Salvation Army of Greenville will serve donuts and pastries, graciously provided by Krispy Kreme and Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery, to veterans at the Greenville VA Outpatient Clinic. The Salvation Army will also partner with the Donut Experiment, who will donate 10% of proceeds raised on June 7 to our programs and services!
You can also take part in the spirit of Donut Day by dough-nating to The Salvation Army here or by texting "DonutDay2019" to 41444.
