The Salvation Army of Greenville has received $3,000 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help feed local neighbors in their time of need. The Salvation Army will use the gift to provide meal and grocery assistance boxes to families in need.
“The Salvation Army thanks Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation for the generous donation,” says Major Andrew Kelly, Area Commander of The Salvation Army of Greenville, Pickens and Oconee Counties. “Now more than ever, people in our community are in need of a helping hand, and these funds enable us to provide groceries to families and meals to the hungry.”
Every year, The Salvation Army of Greenville provides assistance to more than 30,000 individuals. In 2020, our staff served more than 150,000 meals and provided over 3,000 grocery assistance boxes. The funds from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation will help us continue to fight hunger in our community.
