The Salvation Army of Greenville welcomes Mark Knauber as its new Chief Accountant for the Area Command office. Knauber brings over 25 years of finance and accounting experience to his new role at The Salvation Army.
For the past 11 years, Knauber worked for Advance America at the headquarters based in Spartanburg. Before that, he worked in finance, management and accounting positions for various companies, including Michelin. Originally from Fort Worth, TX, Knauber lived in cities across the Southeast, before he settled in Greenville about 15 years ago. Knauber has two sons who both students at Greenville County schools, and his family attends Saint George Greek Orthodox Church in downtown Greenville.
“This is the first time I’ll be working in the non-profit sector,” says Knauber. “I’m looking forward to being part of an organization that directly invests into my own community and makes Greenville a better place to live.”
“We’re happy to have Mark with us as our new Chief Accountant,” says Major Pete Costas, Area Commander of The Salvation Army of Greenville, Pickens and Oconee Counties. “We’re excited to see how he leads our finance department, as they process the funds needed to continue serving those in need in our community.”
