Greenville Swamp Rabbits Hold Underwear Toss for The Salvation Army Shelters

The Greenville Swamp Rabbits will hold an underwear toss for The Salvation Army’s shelters on Dec. 22 at 7:30 p.m. The game and underwear toss will take place at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena (650 N. Academy St.).

Those attending the game are encouraged to bring new, unopened packages of underwear to the Swamp Rabbits game. The underwear can be for any gender, age and size. During a designated point in the game, the announcer will invite those in the arena to toss the underwear out onto the ice. The Swamp Rabbits will collect the packages, and the underwear will be donated to The Salvation Army’s emergency homeless shelters, which house 143 individuals every night.

“We are very grateful to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits for their support of our mission,” says Major Pete Costas, Area Commander of The Salvation Army of Greenville, Pickens and Oconee. “Many people arrive at our shelters with only the clothes on their backs, and donations like this are very useful for and appreciated by those we serve.”

Tickets to the game can be purchased here.
