The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club will host their second annual Thanksgiving dinner at the Kroc Center on November 20, 2018, from 3:30-5 p.m. Thanks to Sysco and Roe Cassidy Coates and Price, P.A., the cost of each meal will be covered and Roe Cassidy employees will volunteer to serve the meal to each club member.
The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club serves over 140 children through their afterschool program, which provides homework assistance, recreational activities and an afternoon meal. During the week of Thanksgiving, the Boys and Girls Club substitutes one afternoon meal with a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.
In 2017, Roe Cassidy, Sysco and the Boys and Girls Club partnered together for the first Thanksgiving dinner, serving over 100 club members. Owing to last year’s success, Roe Cassidy, Sysco and the Boys and Girls have continued their partnership for the second annual Thanksgiving dinner.
“The Boys and Girls Club thanks Roe Cassidy and Sysco for their continued support and spirit of giving,” says Mike Burdine, executive director of the Boys and Girls Club. “The club is more than just a program; we’re a family. And their support of this annual Thanksgiving dinner allows us to create a bigger and better sense of family within our club members.”
