Local Bakeries Share Sweet Desserts to Help Others
Proceeds benefit programs for families in need
Local bakeries and restaurants are partnering with The Salvation Army for the fourth annual Sweet Desserts program in February. The Sweet Desserts program was established to provide local restaurants, bakeries and their guests the opportunity to support The Salvation Army’s Social Ministries programs by showing love to those in need during Valentine’s and throughout the month of February.
Through Sweet Desserts, businesses offer specialty desserts with proceeds from the sales benefiting The Salvation Army’s programs that help local families needing food, rent, utility, or shelter assistance.February is the month for love and with Sweet Desserts, you can show your love for others when purchasing a signature treat from any of the seven Sweet Desserts partners:
“Greenville is such a generous city and with Sweet Desserts, we have the opportunity to partner with local restaurants and bakeries to help local families. When you are looking for ways to show your loved ones that you care, take them to one of the partnering restaurants and purchase a Sweet Dessert. You are not only supporting local business and enjoying a great dessert, you are also helping someone in need,”shares Major Pete Costas, Area Commander.
The Salvation Army served over 26,000 individuals through a variety of programs that serve those in need in Greenville County. For the thousands of local families living at or below the poverty line, The Salvation Army provides a range of emergency assistance to help them through crisis situations. Proceeds raised through the Sweet Desserts program will go to support these life changing programs.
