Christmas Toy Assistance 2017

As the Christmas season quickly approaches, The Salvation Army is preparing to help those in need with Christmas toy assistance for children ages 12 & under. The Salvation Army is partnering with the Greenville County Library System again this year to offer free personal development classes for parents as an additional component to the Christmas toy assistance provided by The Salvation Army.

Those wishing to receive Christmas toy assistance for the 2017 season should visit The Salvation Army to receive a “Giving Hope”stamp card and informational letter regarding the program. Applicants must then complete three classes offered by the Greenville County Library System by October 15, 2017. The classes offered cover a broad scope of topics ranging from financial literacy to family skills. Upon completing the third class and receiving all three stamps from the library on their “Giving Hope”card, applicants should visit The Salvation Army to schedule their registration appointment.

All applicantswishing to receive Christmas toy assistance must complete the above requirements of the Giving Hope program, while also meeting the following financial eligibility requirements: A DSS Household Summary and photo ID of head of
household applying, or verification of income and expenses for one month, birth certificates for children 12 & under, and photo ID of head of household applying.

“The Salvation Army is proud to partner with the Greenville County Library System to offer this approach to Christmas toy assistance again this year,”shares Major Pete Costas, Area Commander. “The Giving Hope program extends an opportunity for those in need to not only receive Christmas toys, but to also enrich their lives with skills classes that they might not otherwise be able to attend. We want to be sure that the community is aware of the program, and that no one goes without the Christmas toy assistance they might need.”
