Help take local youth to “Great Futures & Beyond!”
The Advisory Council for The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club of Greenville County is coordinating the Superhero 5K to help support the after-school and summer programs of the Club. The Superhero 5K will take place on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 8 a.m. and is open to the public. Registration is $30 for adults ages 18+, $20 for teens ages 13-17 and $10 for youth ages 12 & under.
Participants of all ages are encouraged to dress as their favorite Superhero! Prizes will be given for the top male and female running times and for best costume in youth, adult and group categories. The race will begin and end at the Kroc Center in Downtown Greenville with part of the route going along the Swamp Rabbit Trail and Falls Park. Runners who register before August 1st are guaranteed a race tshirt. Teams are encouraged. For more information about this event or to register, click here or call 864-235-4803.
The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club is committed to providing quality after-school programs where educational enrichment is just the beginning. “I am a product of the Club along with thousands of others in Greenville," states Mike Burdine, Executive Director of The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club. "We are excited for this event as it allows the community to not only have fun dressed as their favorite superhero, but to also see the impact they are making for youth in our community. The Superhero 5K allows everyone to be a hero!"
