The Salvation Army has two Family (Thrift) Stores in Greensboro. These stores rely on donations of clothing and household goods from the community, volunteers, employed staff, and the support of the general public. 100% of the proceeds from these stores are used to fund the programs and services of The Salvation Army of Greensboro.

In addition to providing additional funding for The Salvation Army, the Family Stores are also a source of clothing for those in need. Vouchers are given out through The Salvation Army’s Center of Hope for individuals and families facing a difficult situation. The vouchers are then redeemable to buy needed items, like clothing and shoes at the Family Store.

While Salvation Army Family Stores are often seen as a place to find great bargains, it is easy to see that they do much more. Not only do they provide goods at low cost, they provide the basic necessities for an individual or family as they begin to put the pieces of their life back together.

The Select Store, located at 3610 North Elm Street, is The Salvation Army’s boutique thrift store. Every item that makes it onto the sales floor at the Select Store has been hand-picked for its quality and value. Name brand clothing, shoes, jewelry, housewares, furniture, and more are sold at this location. Donations of any kind can be made at the Select Store.
