Doing the
Most Good®

Fundamental to The Salvation Army's DNA is to always do the best work we can with the resources we have been given; we want you to know that we are Doing the Most Good® that we possibly can. We care deeply about those that come to us in their time of greatest need and who rely on us to help them get back on their feet. When you donate to The Salvation Army, you're helping your neighbors in your community.

Our Financial Track Record

The Salvation Army is well-known for making efficient use of the resources that are entrusted to us. Last year in the Carolinas, approximately 82 cents of every dollar spent were invested in our Corps Community Centers and Social Services programs — only 18 cents were spent on fundraising and management expenses. When you give, you can be sure that we are looking for the most effective ways to put your resources to work.

For more information, our annual report is available to read online or via a PDF download.

Gently Used Goods

Family Stores operated by The Salvation Army take your gently used clothing and household items and help the community in a couple of different ways. First, they provide an affordable place for anyone to purchase items that they need or want. Secondly, they fund important programs right in the communities in which they are located.

Gifts of Stock

The Salvation Army is grateful for all of the resources we receive from the community. For many of our partners, giving a gift of stock is a great option. It’s beneficial to the person that gives and to The Salvation Army. These gifts are helpful to our partners because of the potential tax benefits, but also because of the way that an initial investment can be multiplied into greater impact in the community.

Corporate Donations

We value the many corporate partnerships that have been established through the years and recognized how vital they have been to providing for the needs of those in our community. Whether at Christmas, during the year, or in the aftermath of a natural disaster, corporate partners are essential to the mission of The Salvation Army. We rely on corporations and their employees to provide the financial support needed to get things done.

Donate a Vehicle

Sometimes it can be a hassle to get rid of vehicles that are no longer needed or wanted. At The Salvation Army, we are able to receive your used car, boat, or other vehicle and resell it. The funds we receive go back into providing the local services we are known for in your community. The process is easy and may even benefit you with your taxes.
