Here's How You Can Help Feed Your Hungry Neighbors

Each year, FOX8 leads the charge in making the Triad Holiday Food Drive a reality. Since 1987, they have helped to collect millions of cans of food to be distributed by The Salvation Army to hungry people all throughout the Triad.

Many don’t realize that hunger is a real problem here in the Triad and across North Carolina. In fact, one out of four children in North Carolina are considered food insecure. This drive affords us the opportunity to lower that statistic by getting food to the people who need it most.

You can help those hungry people by partnering in the food drive. All you need to do is register to host a cardboard box at your office and spread the word amongst your co-workers. We’ll drop the box off and then pick it up when it’s full! The food drive will culminate with the annual Holiday Concert, in Greensboro, this year’s concert will be December 16th at the Greensboro Coliseum.

Over 17,000 FOX8 viewers who attend the FOX8/Old Dominion Holiday Concerts know what a great feeling it is to enjoy the holiday music, while also supporting the worthy cause of filling the local Salvation Army’s food pantries. However, many FOX8 viewers are not aware of the Triad Holiday Food Drive.

Their goal is simple, but so important: to help The Salvation Army meet the need! Last year, FOX8 and Old Dominion collected over 500,000 cans of food with 61 companies participating in the Holiday Food Drive. This year their goal continues to be securing commitments from organizations and supply food to the pantries for the entire year.

We believe that with your help as individuals and companies, we can exceed the2015 total of 500,000 cans. If you’d like to learn more or are interested in participating, please register at . Let’s make this happen by Doing The Most Good!
