Thursday October 22nd was our annual Doing The Most Good Breakfast where influential community members joined for a delicious meal at the O. Henry Hotel in Greensboro, NC. This event was a wonderful occasion for volunteers to get excited about the upcoming Christmas season and learn of all the opportunities where they can make a difference.
Thank you to Neill McNeill for kindly emceeing the morning.
We presented three Doing The Most Good Awards at the breakfast to honor each organization’s commitment to The Salvation Army and our mission. Our first award recipient was The Home Depot store on South Elm-Eugene Street for planting a community garden at our Center of Hope to reduce the costs of fresh produce.

HAECO Americas received our second Doing The Most Good Award of the morning. This organization, formally known as Timco, has been setting up 3 Angel Trees each year and filling up to 100 angles! HAECO has been participating in our Angel Tree Program for 14 years! HAECO employees also help our senior citizens have a special Christmas morning and fill 50 stockings for children in need. We really appreciate their dedication and volunteerism!

Last but not least, Southeast Guilford High School’s Occupational Course of Study Class received our third Doing The Most Good Award for their commitment to adopt a kettle at the Walmart on Elmsley Drive for two hours each day for three weeks. We were so glad to see the students at the breakfast, so that we could show them our appreciation.
