They’ve been affectionately given the nicknames “Rosebud” and “Rose Petal”. The generosity of their time and helping hands are as beautiful as their names. Rose Howell and Rose Langley can be found at The Salvation Army of Greensboro’s Christmas warehouse any day in December. They each log more than 300 volunteer hours during the busy Christmas season.
They begin by talking one on one, filling out applications, with the moms and dads that come to The Salvation Army requesting help for Christmas. The two Rose’s then help give out the coats that are collected through the Give a Kid a Coat campaign.
Rose and Rose assist with the toys in the warehouse and don’t finish until the last gift has gone out the door. We can always count on their hard work, even on cold days in a warehouse without heat.
This will be Rose Howell twelfth year of service and Rose Langley’s fifth. They are an inspiration to us and to the other volunteers who serve with them.
Thank you to our “Rosebud” and “Rose Petal” for your love and dedication to The Salvation Army and for helping us in our mission of “Doing The Most Good”. We honor you as we celebrate National Volunteer Week, for your hard work, devotion, and selfless giving to the community.
