Burling Wins New Board Member of the Year

The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Greensboro is proud to announce that one of its Advisory Board Members was recently honored with a prestigious award from the North Carolina Boys and Girls Club Area Council. Retired Greensboro businessman, Bill Burling, was recognized for his leadership with the 2015 Beverly Burton New Board Member of the Year Award.

Giving Cans to Reduce Hunger in the Triad

The Triad Holiday Food Drive is an opportunity for local businesses to collect as many canned goods as possible for The Salvation Army of Greensboro food pantry. The food drive ends with a holiday celebration with the Greensboro and Winston Salem Symphonies performing beautiful concerts, where admission "costs" one canned good.

Helping Angels This Christmas

Every year The Salvation Army of Greensboro helps make Christmas special for every child we serve. Please consider adopting an Angel to provide toys to our children or volunteering your time during the toy warehouse distribution.

Planting Savings and Inspiration in a Garden

William Pendergrass has been cooking at The Salvation Army of Greensboro’s Center of Hope kitchen for 13 years. He prepares three meals a day for approximately 80 people who have nowhere else to go, but a desire to get back into a place of their own. William hopes to fill their stomachs and souls with food that will help them get back on their feet. He has a passion for cooking and serving others and it’s evident by the ever-present smile on his face.

It’s happening on July 25, 2015 at 7pm at New Bridge Bank Park in Greensboro as the Grasshoppers take on the Savanah Sand Gnats.
