Hurricane Harvey, Irma and Maria Relief Efforts

Thank you for your generosity to help those that have been impacted by Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma, and Hurricane Maria! The Salvation Army is very grateful for your support, however at this time, we are NOT accepting in-kind donations. Most the areas that have been impacted are unable to get to these donations and it would better served the communities impacted to have monetary donations. These donations will allow those in the impacted communities to purchase what is needed and help the local economy, which will take a long time to recover. We know first how how a natural disaster can impact a community and know that it takes years to fully recover. Please continue to pray for those impacted.

Cities who have been recently devastated by natural disasters are actually overwhelmed with unsolicited donations, like clothes, toys and household items. This can lead to what disaster relief personnel call the “secondary disaster,” in which valuable, life sustaining resources are redirected to sort, transport, store, and distribute items that may not meet the needs of survivors.
