Some people may not know that The Salvation Army began as a church movement in the 1800's. William Booth (the founder) left the traditional Church and began a ministry of taking the Gospel to the homeless, the hungry, and the destitute. He met with prostitutes and he ministered to alcoholics in bars. William and Catherine Booth wanted to reach the least of these, and they quickly realized that ministry would be next to impossible if those they were preaching to were starving, naked, cold, and sick. They began serving both physical and spiritual needs of the community around them, and we still follow that example today.

Our church meets for a worship service every Sunday and meets throughout the week for Bible studies and programs. Throughout the year, our youth and adults are invited to go to various camps and retreats at Camp Walter Johnson in Denton, NC.
