Teen Career Day @ NCCU Success

On April 22, The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club hosted their Second Annual Teen Day @ NCCU! Thanks to the North Carolina Central University School of Law and our amazing Advisory Council, Teen Career Day was a huge success.

Professionals from around Durham came to meet with high school students. In a “speed-dating” style, students met with career people ranging from barbers, to IT professionals, to teachers, to therapists. With such a wide range of possible careers, the students had a great time learning about the paths they could take after graduating.

At The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club, an educational focus is very important. The Reading Program is the highlight of Club programming, providing students with the extra help they need in order to succeed in school. With programs like this and Teen Day @ NCCU, students are given the ultimate opportunity to reach their fullest potential.

We are so thankful for the professionals that came out to share some wisdom about their field of work, and for the parents who brought their teens to learn about different career paths that interest them.
