The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club of Durham Takes Championship!

This past weekend, our very own Boys & Girls Club basketball team took home the USSSA AAU State Championship! Our boys, the Save Sports Rim Rockers, played an amazing tournament.

"We are so excited for this victory. It means a lot to our team," Said Joshua Dorsette, Unit Director for The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club of Durham and coach of the Rim Rockers. "The last time we took home this trophy was 2010. It has been a long-awaited victory."

Not only did our boys take home a giant trophy, but each of them recieved a championship ring to wear proudly and remember their victory.

Multiple nights a week, our basketball team is coached by staff and dedicated volunteers. We are thankful to be able to provide a safe place for our youth to be able to hang out, learn the importance of discipline, and become great athletes! By the looks of our team, we don't plan on waiting another six years to win our next state championship!
