Durham HOG's Deliver Toys for Christmas

Continuing a 24-year tradition, Durham HOG Chapter 3382 came by The Salvation Army of Durham this weekend, with the help of Rommel HD, to deliver a truckload of toys for our Christmas Angel Tree Program. What a sight it was!

Around noon, a caravan of what seemed like 100 Harley Davidson motorcycles (and a few others!) came rolling up to our facility on Liberty Street. They were accompanied by a trailer that was full of Christmas presents for the children in our Angel Tree Program. Once the rumbling engines died down, I was able to have a conversation with a few of these bikers. They've been participating in this event for 24 years now, with no plans of stopping anytime soon. It was evident that both The Salvation Army and Durham HOGs looked forward to this every year!

When all of the gifts had been stored safely inside, they presented a check to Captain Viera. We are so thankful for this group! It is great to be able to witness so many community members come together for a cause like the Christmas Angel Tree Program. This year, we are bringing Christmas to just over 1,000 children in Durham, Orange, and Person counties. The gifts that were delivered this weekend will be a huge help in making Christmas happen for these families in need!
