Summer Camping

Our Summer Day Camp program for children in grades 1st-5th is held from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army Center for Worship and Service (3024 Farrow Road, Columbia, S.C. 29203) and organized into four sessions on the following dates in June 2018:

Summer Camp Dates TBD

We seek to enroll 25 children each week for Day Camp.

Applications for enrollment can be picked up at 3024 Farrow Road, Columbia, SC 29203.

$15,000 is needed to deliver an unforgettable Day Camp experience to children of our community. Summer hunger is a big problem for children living in poverty and donations will help us provide lunch and snacks to all of the participating children. We'll also provide opportunities to make crafts, take field trips, and join in character building activities.

Once Day Camp concludes, The Salvation Army will again this year send local children who are 6-12 years old and experience poverty to five days of respite at Camp Walter Johnson in Denton, North Carolina. Camp Walter Johnson is owned and operated by The Salvation Army and has a trained and compassionate staff. We hope to send 60 children to Camp Walter Johnson in 2018.

$50 will help provide 1 day and night at camp for a child.

$100 will help offer 2 days and nights of camp.

$150 can help provide 3 days and nights of life changing experiences for a hurting child.

A $225 donation provides the camp experience to one child for five days and nights.

Donations will be used to provide a camping experience that is safe and loving for children where they can play sports, swim, explore the outdoors, and make new friends.
