Afternoon Reading Program
Leveraging Literacy is an afternoon reading program offered at no cost to students in 1st-5th grade who read below grade level. The program meets during the school year from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army of the Midlands (3024 Farrow Road in Columbia, SC).
The program:
- HELPS children who have fallen behind in reading skills!
- BUILDS vocabulary, fluency and reading comprehension!
- INSTILLS a love for reading...a lifelong benefit!
We have a highly qualified and committed teaching staff!
We offer small group and one-on-one instruction!
FREE bus transportation to The Salvation Army is provided for students attending Watkins-Nance Elementary School. Parents need to pick up children at 5:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army.
