The winner of The Salvation Army of the Midlands’ 2015 High School Battle of the Bells competition is Dutch Fork High School Air Force JROTC. Student volunteers from the school rang bells at seven kettle locations over the course of two days – December 5th and December 12th – and raised a total of $3,372.65.
The Salvation Army’s 125th Red Kettle Campaign Sets New Fundraising Record with Nearly $150 Million Raised
The 2015 Red Kettle Campaign collected $149.6 million, setting a new national fundraising record for the campaign. Thanks to the support of donors and corporate partners, the money raised will help The Salvation Army provide food, shelter and social services to nearly 30 million Americans in need this year.
The Little Caesars Love Kitchen came to Columbia, Wednesday, February 24th. They partnered with The Salvation Army of the Midlands and Transitions and to provide free fresh Little Caesars pizza to residents at Transitions.
The winter weather is here and The Salvation Army of the Midlands is in desperate need of on-call volunteers to help with serving breakfast and supper to the homeless and hungry at the Inclement Weather Center, depending upon the temperature.
The program meets Monday - Friday, 3:30p.m. to 5:30p.m. Volunteer duties will include assisting children with their reading, writing, spelling and other needs as the lead teacher instructs students on reading and writing assignments.
