Salvation Army Seeks New Christmas Center

The Salvation Army needs a new home to house its Christmas donations this year. The organization is losing the facility it’s used for the past decade.

Victory Christian Church owned the former Walmart building in south Charlotte, but recently sold it to a developer. The Salvation Army plans to collect donations for more than 10,000 kids and 1,300 seniors this year.

“It takes a lot of space,” said Maj. Larry Broome. “We’re thinking we need at least 75,000 square feet to do what we need to do to make that happen in the community this year.”
