Celebrating our Christmas Partners and Friends

This past Christmas, thanks to the support of the community – and some amazing partners – we were able to provide gifts to more than 10,400 children in need. And, last week, we were able to take some time to formally thank some of those special media and community partners at a luncheon at our administrative office.

We can’t do this alone, and we are so thankful that we don’t have to! From holding toy drives and hosting Angel Trees, to helping us get the word out to the community about our programs, so many are involved in an assistance effort of this magnitude.

We recognized a few folks in particular, in appreciation of their support:

Community Partner Award: Corvette Angels, who collected nearly 500 toys this year at their car show, and have collected over 2,000 toys for us in recent years.

Community Partner Award: Harris Teeter, who helps us throughout the year, especially during Red Kettle season.

Extra Mile Award: WCNC, for their long history with the Magical Toy Drive. This year, the Toy Drive raised over 15,000 toys, the most in its history.

Extra Mile Award: WCCB, for their longstanding sponsorship of the Angel Tree program.

Impact Award: Jon Wilson from WCCB, who goes above and beyond every year to support The Salvation Army. This year, that even included sleeping in his car in the parking lot of Concord Mills to raise awareness and toys!

It’s an honor to partner with so many people and organizations each year! We can’t wait until next Christmas (which is only 11 months away!)
