A couple weeks ago, we realized we had a need for a number of items at the Salvation Army Center of Hope, including pack-n-play style portable play pens. Having these on hand allows beds to be utilized for older children and mothers. The Center of Hope also has an ongoing need for twin sheets, towels, washcloths, diapers and baby wipes.
With the help of Mark Price and The Charlotte Observer, we put out the call to the community, and once again, like so many times in the past, you came through!
To-date, we’ve received 74 pack and plays, 300 boxes of diapers and 300 boxes of baby wipes, plus a number of towels and sheets sets and other donations.
In addition, our friends at Family Dollar contributed a pallet of baby wipes (277 boxes, or 2,216 total packages) and $500 in gifts cards for the purchase of towels and wash clothes. Charlotte Family Yoga Center is planning to hold events in July to help raise support and awareness for the Center of Hope. They are hoping to encourage class participants to contribute towels, sheets and wash clothes for the Center of Hope.
While we will continue gladly accepting any in-kind donations, one of the best ways to continue to support the ministry at the Center of Hope is through a financial contribution online.
We are overwhelmed by the support we’ve received from the community. Thank you for your partnership in helping to speak hope to people when they need it most.
