Speaking Hope all Year

When you think of The Salvation Army, you probably picture a bell ringer standing by our Red Kettles at Christmas. Maybe you think about donating clothing or shopping in one of the area Salvation Army Family Stores.

But, every day, we provide care, comfort, guidance, and encouragement to people when they need it most. Every day, we speak hope. {Learn about our programs}.

This week, we celebrate National Salvation Army Week, an officially recognized opportunity to honor those who have enabled The Salvation Army to serve for more than 100 years. In 1904, two sisters in Charlotte were determined to be a part of the solution facing the distressed. In a small rented room on Church Street uptown, The Salvation Army of Greater Charlotte began operations – meeting human needs in His name without discrimination.

More than 110 years later, we continue to fulfill the mission to “Do the Most Good” as we help our neighbors in need; nurture youth in our community to enable them to reach their God-given potential; and serve as a lifeline to rescue the hopeless from circumstances that rob them of their dignity.

Be a part of the solution today. Help us continue to speak hope to those who need it most. Give today
