Have you ever had to ask someone for help?  Most of us have.  It comes with mixed emotions.  On one hand, we know we need to ask.  On the other, we may be embarrassed to admit we can’t do it on our own and feel bad for having to even ask.

The bells will stop ringing tomorrow for another year.  However, there will be people who will come asking The Salvation  Army for help long after Christmas is over.  As the rains fall today and many of our kettle workers will do their best to finish strong, the reality is many people will not stop to give in the pouring rain.  This is why we need your help today and tomorrow, more than ever.  You can help by giving to our Virtual Kettle.  By clicking on this link GiveArmy.us/Charlotte , you can help us reach our fundraising goal.  Right now, we have raised $1,910 in our Virtual Kettle.  We are hoping to reach the $5,000 mark before Christmas Day, but can’t do it without your help.

Just this past week, I was able to help a father who had an emergency come up in the past month and was not going to be able to purchase any Christmas gifts for his son.  I was only able to help because of the generosity of people like you, who give when there is a need.  This man had never needed help before in his life.  A recent health related diagnosis has forced him out of work and sent him into a terrible state of depression.  Even amidst this, he found the strength to ask for help on behalf of his son.  Each one of us could have something similar happen.  Life happens!  It is for this reason, I ask you to consider helping us fill our Virtual Kettle.  We pledge to do the most good with your donation.  On behalf of the officers, staff and volunteers at The Salvation Army of Greater Charlotte, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
