Get in the holiday spirit while helping the Salvation Army
Thanksgiving has come and gone which means the countdown is on to Christmas! The Salvation Army is already gearing up for December 25th and has been for months because for them this is the busiest time of the year.
There are all kinds of ways that you can get involved.
There is still time to adopt an Angel off one of the Angel Trees. They are located at MUSC Hospital, Northwoods Mall near Santa, Yates Construction in Ridgeville, Seacoast Church in West Ashley, Vincent Drug Store on John's Island, Sunland Logistics Solutions in North Charleston, Plantation Oaks Apartments in West Ashley, Max Studio in Summerville, Pivotal Fitness in West Ashley and Orangetheory in West Ashley.
If you want to bring out our angel's gifts to the MUSC Parade of Toys that is Friday, December 2nd. It starts at 12pm at the MUSC Horseshoe. If you can't make this parade then you can bring your unwrapped presents to your designated location by December 5th.
Do you like teddy bears and hockey? Then the Teddy Bear Toss with the SC Stingrays is an event you won't want to miss! It is a minor league hockey tradition! You just bring a new stuffed animal to the game and when the Stingrays score their first goal, you throw your Teddy onto the ice! The stuffed animals are collected to benefit the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program.
Once all the gifts are collected for the angels, volunteers are needed at the Angel Tree Toy Center through December 20th to help sort and pack Christmas bags.
And last but not least, bell ringers are needed! You can volunteer to ring one of the bells at the kettle at one of the designated locations.
