When you purchase an item from a Salvation Army Family store (aka thrift store) the money goes back into the local community. We don't exist to generate profit so your dollar doesn’t go into the pocket of CEO. The lamp you bought might mean a hot meal for an individual staying at a shelter, a music lesson for a child at one of our afterschool programs, or another month of electric service while a family works to get back on their feet. Stein Mart and The Salvation Army are partnering March 20-22 for the retailer’s “Trade In, Trade Up” event. Shoppers are encouraged to bring their new or gently used clothing this weekend to Stein Mart in exchange for 20% off coupons towards the purchase of a new item (limit two coupons).
