Stein Mart Hosts “Trade In, Trade Up” Event to Benefit The Salvation Army

Stein Mart and The Salvation Army are partnering March 20-22 for the retailer’s “Trade In, Trade Up” event. Shoppers are encouraged to bring their new or gently used clothing this weekend to Stein Mart in exchange for 20% off coupons towards the purchase of a new item (limit two coupons). The donated items will be sold in The Salvation Army Family Stores throughout the area.

“We are excited to be partnering with The Salvation Army,” said Laurie Perryman, District Manager. “We are always looking for ways to give back. It is a privilege to impact our communities in such a positive way.”

The profits generated from the stores support the nonprofit’s year-round programs. Last year, The Salvation Army helped over 7,000 individuals in the Charleston community with life-changing assistance and support. This assistance could be help with rent, utilities, or food.

“We are so appreciative of this event,” Major Tom Richmond, Commanding Officer for The Salvation Army of Charleston said. “It allows our organization to continue ‘Doing The Most Good’ for those in need.”

The “Trade In, Trade Up” event will take place at five South Carolina Stein Mart locations: 1945 W Palmetto Street in Florence, 7621 N Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, 10125 Frontage Road in Murrells Inlet, 975 Savannah Highway in Charleston and 600 Long Point Road in Mt. Pleasant. Store hours are Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. – 9 p.m., Sunday 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. Volunteers will be available to accept donations and issue receipts. If a volunteer is not present, shoppers may make their donations at the Customer Service Center.
