Last summer members of Columbia Forest Products initiated a project to improve the safety of The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club. Together, Columbia Forest Products and The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary provided financial assistance to purchase the mulch and borders needed to comply with updated safety regulations. Later that summer, 30 employees from Columbia Forest Products volunteered their entire day to set playground borders and spread specialized mulch, to ensure that safety standards were met, and that the playground looked fun and inviting.
In appreciation of their great efforts, The Salvation Army of High Point planned a special playground dedication ceremony to recognize all those who participated in making this project a reality! On March 27th, at 10 am, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held to dedicate the new playground and unveill a new playground sign in honor of Columbia Forest Products & The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary. Thank you to The High Point Chamber of Commerce, FOX8, The High Point Enterprise, WFMY, WXII, Columbia Forest Products, The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary and our community members for attending this special event.
The children in our program are truly enjoying their new playground, and The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club staff members have peace-of-mind knowing that the children have a safe place to play.
