Each Christmas, The Salvation Army, with the help of hundreds of volunteers and donors, provides toys, food and clothing to our neighbors in need and cares for those otherwise forgotten.
In 2013, more than 23,300 people in Forsyth, Stokes and Yadkin Counties received assistance, impacting the lives of more than 6,700 local children. More than 43,300 toys, 3,200 food boxes, 5,300 coats and 3,400 stockings were given to that in need.
Toys and Food. The Salvation Army helps families in Forsyth, Stokes and Yadkin Counties with toys, food and clothing for Christmas.
Angel Tree. Children in need are provided gifts of toys and clothing through the Angel Tree program. Angel sponsors purchase appropriate gifts and return them to the Angel Tree for distribution. This program is an opportunity for an individual to make a difference in the life of a child in need.
Stockings Program. Pick up and fill stockings with small items for children aged 5 through 12 and return them for distribution through The Salvation Army Christmas Program.
Give-a-Kid-A-Coat. In partnership with A Cleaner World, The Salvation Army collects and redistributes coats to children and adults. Volunteers are needed to sort coats and help with the distribution.
Food Boxes. Businesses, Churches and other civic groups select a food item to sponsor for the food boxes that will be distributed to needy families and individuals at Christmas. For more information, and especially if you would like to become a sponsor, contact us at 336 723-6366.
The Sealy/Fox8 Holiday Concert. This Holiday Concert has become a tradition for thousands of Triad families. It is a great opportunity to hear the Winston-Salem Symphony and celebrate the Season, but it also helps stock The Salvation Army pantries and keeps our neighbors in need from going hungry.
