Red Kettle Ringers Needed

  • Volunteers can pick dates and times from November 22, 2013 to December 24, 2013

*Paid- If you or anyone you know would like to join The Salvation Army team by ringing bells this season please come to 290 Pigeon St, Waynesville to fill out necessary paperwork.

  • Monday - Friday 10 am to 2 pm
  • Monday September 23, 2013 - November 11, 2013. 
  • Orientation will be November 18, 2013 at 10 am
  • This position is a temporary position November 22, 2013 to December 24, 2013. Monday - Saturday. 10 am to 9 pm.

Bell ringers are responsible for standing outside ringing bell, collecting donations for The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Christmas programs. Bell ringer should be able to stand out in various weather conditions for long periods of time. Bell ringer should have reliable transportation to and from work.

Bell ringers are needed for Waynesville, Sylva, Franklin and surrounding areas.

Angel Tree Christmas Assistance Program

Each year The Salvation Army takes applications to assist needy families provide Christmas gifts for their loved ones when they otherwise could not. If you or someone you know would benefit from this program The Salvation Army will be in the following locations:

  • October 14, 2013 from 10 am to 12 pm Macon County- Macon County Public Library; 149 Siler Farm Road, Franklin
  • October 15, 2013 from 10 am to 12 pm Jackson County- Jackson County Library; 310 Keener St, Sylva 
  • October 16, 2013 from 10 am to 12 pm Swain County- Senior Center; 125 Brendle St, Bryson City
  • October 18, 2013 from 10 am to 12 pm Cherokee and Graham County- Cherokee County Health Department, 228 Hilton St, Murphy
  • October 18, 2013 from 10 am to 12 pm Cheokee and Graham County- Andrews Senior Center, 54 Parks St., Andrews
  • October 18, 2013 from 2 pm to 4 pm Clay County- Hayesville First United Methodist Church, 969 Highway 64 Bus., Hayesville     
  • October 21-25, 2013 from 10 am to 2 pm Haywood County- The Salvation Army, 290 Pigeon St, Waynesville
  • October 28-30 2013 from 10 am to 2 pm Make Up Date All Counties- The Salvation Army, 290 Pigeon St, Waynesville

Applicants must bring with them proof of all income and expenses and picture ID and proof of birth of children (birth certificate or medicaid card). If receiving food stamps a verification letter from DSS with amount receiving. (EBT card is not proof of amount receiving.) Other Opportunities

Sponsor a food drive between September 23 and November 8; items gathered need to be nonperishable and coincide with a Thanksgiving/Christmas Meal.

Any food raised and donated to The Salvation Army for this purpose will be given to needy citizens in our service area which includes 7 counties in Western North Carolina.
