Emergency Disaster Services
Devastating disasters do not discriminate between the rich and the poor, and can often affect thousands of people with little to no warning. North Carolina is an especially vulnerable state, with frequent hurricanes and flooding.
The Salvation Army of Wake County maintains a list of ready volunteers, poised to come to the aid of those impacted. Please sign up to be a standing resource for our disaster relief services to meet needs, provide comfort and offer hope. Learn more here.
You pass them on your way to work. You walk by them every day. Those who have no place to call home, no food to satisfy their hunger. Men, women and children who have been dehumanized by their circumstances, separated from the rest of the world by an invisible wall. You avoid looking into their eyes, because you fear what you’ll find staring back. It’s time to break down those walls – walls we all have built. Now is the time to Stop. Connect. Repeat. Learn how to start a movement here.
The MOST Amazing Race
On August 23, 2014 we are having an event to benefit for our Community Center's after school care, athletic program and summer camps! It's called the MOST Amazing Race, sponsored by Stairway Vision & Millwork. Like the TV show, "The Amazing Race," teams of 2 will compete in mental and physical challenges across downtown Raleigh. The winners will receive $2,500 and this year 2nd & 3rd place win cash prizes. In addition to needing participants, we also need volunteers to work the different challenges/stations!
Saturday, August 23; Must be 18 to participate
