Family Thrift Store: Help turn donations into program funding! Sort and organize items in our store. Great Group Activity!

                     Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 9am-6pm. Must be at least 18 years old. 

 

Shelter Mentor & Tutor Help children in the shelter with their homework, but more importantly serve as a positive role model to a child in need.

                      Monday & Thursday, 6:45pm-8:15pm; Must be at least 18 years old

 

Mission Literacy Teach and enhance reading skills for children in the shelter through the use of The Bible.

                      Tuesday, 6:45pm-8:15pm; Must be at least 18 years old.

 

Family Fun Night: Host a fun craft or activity with the families in our Emergency Women & Children's Shelter! Dance parties, crafts, beauty nights and more! The choice is yours!

                      Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays: 6:45pm-8:15pm

 

Piano Lessons Share your love of music by volunteering to teach the kids in the church, ages 7-14, how to play the piano!

                      Mondays: 6:30pm-7:15pm

 

Clerical: Assist in completing various office tasks including: filing, data entry, thank you notes, stats, and more!

                     May require bringing own computer.  Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm; Fridays 8am-2pm *Varies by need

 

Warehouse: Help organize donations that will given away to help those in need. Great Group Activity!

                     Monday-Thursday 9am-12pm; Fridays 9am- 1pm. Must be at least 14 years old with adult supervision

 

Soup LineHelp feed the hungry by serving, washing dishes, running trays, and water service in the soup line!

                      Must be at least 14 years old with adult supervision. Monday-Friday; 4:30pm-6pm

 

Shelter Meal: As a family or group, lovingly prepare a nutritious meal for the shelter residents in the comfort of your home. Bring the meal and serve it to the women and children! 

                      Monday-Friday (dinner); Saturday & Sunday (breakfast, lunch, or dinner): needs to be schedule ahead of time

 

Food Pantry Assistant: Assist our Crisis Case Manager by greeting clients and helping them carry groceries to their car.

                      Must be at least 14 years old with adult supervision; Tuesdays & Thursdays 12:45pm-2:15pm 

 

Clothing Closet Asssistant: Provide vouchers to The Salvation Army Family Store to individuals and families in need of clothing and screen for eligibility

                      Must be 18 years or older. Fridays  9:00am-11am; Commit to a regular schedule, have basic computer skills, comfortable with implementing agency policies, friendly and approachable, and should enjoy interacting with clients.  Volunteers who speak Spanish are especially helpful for this program.

 

Financial Asssistant: Interview and screen applicants for financial assistance, by reviewing their application, collecting the required documents, and providing eligible applicants with a pledge letter for their rent or utility bills.

                      Must be 18 years or older. Monday- Friday 8:30am-11am; Commit to a weekly schedule, have basic computer skills, comfortable with implementing agency policies, friendly and approachable, and should enjoy interacting with clients.

Seasonal Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteer with our seasonal and special events!

Project FIGHT Club: Project FIGHT Club volunteers are required to attend a series of trainings and commit to once a month meetings. Opportunities include organizing fundraisers, creating awareness events in communities, movie screenings, organizational networking, advcoating for anti-trafficking legislature and more!

                        Must be 18 years old. Opportunities will be based on interest and skill set.

 

Athletics

 Coach: Coach a team of 10-15 children in the sport of your choice towards a healthy active life with strong communications and team building skills!

            Winter & Summer Basketball, Baseball, Soccer & Flag Football - practice & games days vary by season; average commitment of 3 hours a week

 

Concession Stand: Enjoy watching the practices and games while providing snack and drinks for our parents and players! 

            Must be at least 16 years old with adult supervision. Days & times vary by season.

 

Gym Attendant: Help the Athletic Director maintan the gym or field by lining fields, organization equipment and concession stand materials. 

            Must be at least 14 years old with adult supervision. Days & times vary by season.

 

Girls on the Run!: Instill a lifelong love for physical health and teach girls ages 8-13 the importance of health, confideence, and intrapersonal skills.

            Must be at least 16 years old with adult supervision. Requires phsyical activity of volunteers; program ends in celebratory 5k race; Tuesdays & Thursdays 4:30pm-6pm

 

Cheerleading Assistant: Have an extra pep in your step? Help with the cheerleaders learn routines! 

            Must be at least 15 years old; Fridays; 4:30pm-5:30pm

 

Volunteer Referee: Commitment to referee the 4 year old league of your choice for the entire season!

            Must be 18 years old. Winter & Summer Basketball, Baseball, Soccer & Flag Football : dates vary by season

 

Score Keeper: Help keep score of our Basketball games! 

            Must be 16 years old. Winter & Summer Basketball: dates vary by season

 

 After School Program:

 

Tutoring: Help kids with their homework! They'll gain confidence, and learn a thing or two about yourself. 

                      Monday-Friday: 4:30pm-6pm. Must be at least 15 years old to volunteer.

 

Assistant Group Leader:  Assist Group Leaders in planned activities! Or, Plan and organize group games or religious activities for the children! 

                      Monday-Friday: 2pm-6pm. Must be at least 15 years old to volunteer.

 

Arts & Crafts Leader Spark a child's creativity! Volunteer with the 5-8 years old while they do various art and craft projects

                      Monday-Friday: 4:30pm-6pm. Must be at least 15 years old to volunteer.

 

Gardening We have a small garden for the kids and Seniors group. Help us maintain it!

                      Monday-Friday: flexible times

 

Story Volunteer Help teach good character and values through the world of books and love of reading!

                      Held once a week; date varies by time of year

 

Guitar Lessons If you love music and play the guitar, please sign up to visit our weekly guitar club! Teach the kids any basic lesson you would like to share!

                      4:30pm-5:30pm: Wednesdays; 9 year olds & Fridays; 5-8 year olds

 

Book Club Teach the importance and share the love of reading! Join us and help lead a discussion of the current chosen book! 

                       Fridays; 4:30pm-5:30pm. Must be at least 15 years old to volunteer.
