Christmas Assistance
sharing the joy of Christmas

For many people, the sight of The Salvation Army's red kettles dotting the cityscape and the sounds of bells ringing and change clattering signal the start of Christmas. For other people it is adopting an angel from an Angel Tree in the mall, work place, or church. Since 1927 The Salvation Army in Iredell County has been there for families in need during the holidays and beyond,  but we could not do it without help from the community.

Angel Tree
Every October children are registered for the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program by their loved ones. Many of those registering angels are hardworking single moms and dads. Some are grandparents, relatives, or caregivers. Others are unemployed parents, struggling to stay afloat. By adopting an angel, you are bringing joy to a child on Christmas morning.

In early November, you can adopt angels at public trees throughout the community and online at WCCB-Charlotte Virtual Angel Tree. Or to host an Angel Tree at your work or church, call  704.872.5623 ext. 2  or email You may also add a stocking to your Angel Tree donation. We provide the stocking and gift suggestions; you do the shopping.

Host a Toy Drive
When parents register their children, we promise to assist them. However, not every child is adopted off an Angel Tree. In these cases, we rely on toys you provide through toy drives. This helps us stock "Toyland" at our Christmas Center so that we can fill every child's wish. To host a toy drive at your work or church, call  704.872.5623 ext. 2  or email
