You are invited to join us in an evening of laughter and jabs as we salute “The Good Doctors.” Doctors Julian C. Josey, Jr, M.D. & James D. Bearden, M.D. , will be honored at this special event. The event will be held on Tuesday, April 29 at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium. Toast of the Town is a benefit that honors outstanding members of the Spartanburg community.
All proceeds raised support the youth programs at The Salvation Army Corps Community Center of Spartanburg County. These programs focus on at-risk youth, education, character building, fitness and health, and spiritualism. The Corps Community Center operates yearlong for the community through after-school, athletic, and summer camp programs.
“Roasters” for the evening will include David Church, Billy Webster, Danny Smith, and Jimmy Gibbs. Dinner will be served at the event.
Dr. Josey and Dr. Bearden were chosen because of their dedication to Spartanburg community and to service. Their hard work has saved and helped the lives of many. In fact, because of their lifelong service, they have been coined as “The Good Doctors” by Captain Donnie Marvels and several other community members. Although, they often humbly decline praise and accolade, their tireless work speaks in volume of the good they continue to produce throughout the community.
Dr. Josey and Dr. Bearden had a dream of developing a cancer center in Spartanburg. Their combined passion and commitment to follow their dream has led to the development of today’s nationally recognized, award winning cancer program at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. They are the epitome of the results that yield from passion, hard-work, and perseverance. “The Toast of the Town event is more than a fundraiser. It’s an event that will help raise funds to support programs that help shape and save children’s lives. We foster programs that encourage lasting change with a foundation built on love & God.”- Captain Donnie Marvels
