Benefit Basketball Game

What if attending a basketball game could change some one's life? What if someone's love of sports became love for those in need? JumpStart Ministries has offered the opportunity for families to join them at a Benefit Basketball Game this Saturday, Dec. 14th, 2013. All proceeds from the basketball game will go towards helping families in need this winter season. It all began when Mike Richardson decided he wanted to make a difference in his community. As Mike thought of ways to give back, a Christian organization came to mind... "I knew I wanted to give back to the community, but I wasn't sure exactly how. Then I thought to myself, 'I want to give back to The Salvation Army, because they helped me when I was released from prison.' When I went to The Salvation Army, they gave us clothing vouchers to get clothes, and we needed them. So what better way to give back...I know what The Salvation Army does, because they helped me. So I want to help make sure The Salvation Army has the resources, funding, and clothing to continue to give back to the community."

As I talked with Mr. Richardson, I couldn't help but smile. The joy, passion, and love he has for his community joined the passion that The Salvation Army has for those who are most needy. Together, we discussed the many ways that The Benefit Basketball Game can help those in need. Please make plans to support your community by attending the Benefit Basketball Game.
